Burnley FM17 Career mode part 7- Messi is a poor mans Gudmondsson

Hello everybody and welcome back to my FM17 career mode with Burnley. I hope you all had a fantastic new year, I did I sat there with a Cornetto watching Holes and had the time of my life. Whilst you all reflect on last night and nurse your hangovers there is one thing that will keep you entertained, me. New Year same old Besty as I am giving you the next chapter of my journey with the Clarets.

When we last left you in 2016, we somehow managed to keep Keano at the football club and our Road to Wembley has begun brilliantly with pit stops at Chesterfield and Wigan along the way. There is also this small matter of us at the top of the league but that's not important.

News of my blog have spread and I have been asked to write for a website called TheHIgherTempoPress. They have a great following and are willing to take me on but there is a catch I can't be with Burnley, so it requires me to make a new save but I am considering it and just do the Burnley one on here instead. Anyway shall we dive into today's fixtures......

UP THE CLARETS!!!

Game 1- Everton (A)
We start with a trip to Merseyside to face an Everton side who have been largely disappointing this season and sit in 14th place. Everton still possess a very strong squad and will look to utilize such players as Lukaku, Barkley and Deolofeu. We are at full strength today and Steven Defour is on the bench as I gradually get him back to full fitness.

Bamford and Gray- The new SAS? That is a big win for us and our season, coming to a place like Everton and picking up all 3 points, brilliant win for the boys. We have now gone 3 points clear of 4th and that goal difference is looking favourable as well. UP THE CLARETS.

Game 2- Swansea (A)
Up next we face Swansea who in real life are in the dogs and it looks like they are on this game as well (and people say FM isn't real life) and to make things even more realistic Bob Bradley has been sacked on my game as well, I think I might be next..... Anyway today sees the return of Steven Defour to my squad as I now face a dilemma in that centre of midfield area.

Just what the doctor ordered, I will tell you the truth right, I went and made myself a sandwich and it ended up being 3-0 (the sandwich was good). Managed to see Gudmondssons goal and boy it was a goal of the season contender, cutting in from the right like Messi in his prime and smashes it into the top left. Gudmondsson is better than Messi.

Game 3- Watford (H)
Our first home game of 2017, this is big lads and we face a Watford team who to be fair are doing pretty well and for some reason are receiving more plaudits than my team (suppose they expect us to win the league with Michael Kightly). We are still top but our main target can be achieved if we win today, yes Burnley can achieve survival if we win here and with 12 games to go as well.

ANDRE ANDRE ANDRE ANDRE ANDRE. What a big home win that is which sends us back to the top of the Premier League and guarantees the Clarets survival in the Premier League which I am immensely proud of and lets face it we could win the league. Andre Gray is now on 20 for the season as the Burnley train is coming.

Game 4- Huddersfield (A)
The Road to Wembley is in full focus as we make another pit stop at the John Smiths stadium and face Huddersfield. I want to make sure we continue this fine form and with games being reasonably kind to us we name an unchanged side as we look to take the Clarets to Wembley.

We were knocked out by two own goals and a red card and the Burnley bus to Wembley has got a puncture and will not be carrying on with our journey in the FA Cup. We only have the league now to focus on, so we are going to for it. WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER (High School Musical)

Game 5- Leicester City (H)
Up next we face reigning Champions Leicester City and our home form has been magnificent (cue you internet marks who correct me) and we are looking to kick on in the league and give our fans some success. Defour is out of the squad because of him getting suspended so Tom Carroll comes in.

Oh Fuchs, we couldn't hang on as Ahmed Musa pounces late on and gives the foxes a point. Annoyed with that since we took the lead in the 82nd minute with that man Gray on the scoresheet yet again.

Game 6- Arsenal (A)
Bricking it, I am absolutely bricking it. we face fellow title contenders Arsenal who are 2nd at the minute but if they win they go top, I will be happy with a point but if we get all 3 then mate we are laughing. I just had a look as well and in the premier league we are unbeaten in 16 games, can we make it 17?

YES GET IN!!! OH MY GOD. 4 points clear with 9 games to go, this is possibly the greatest thing I have ever done on FM. Bamford and Gray deserve England call ups.

That's it for today. I would like to inform you that I will be starting a separate blog for TheHigherTempoPress and it will be taking Peterborough United hopefully to the Prem. This blog is still staying on and I will also be writing for the other guys as well. The success of this blog has led to this opportunity so I want to thank everyone for reading it and have fun reading in the future.
