Burnley FM career mode part 3: BESTY VS THE VENKYS

Hello there everyone and welcome back to the Burnley FM16 career mode with Burnley. The aim is to take the might Clarets back to the big time. At the end of the last piece, were top of the table (albeit waiting for Brighton to play). Well good news folks, Brighton bottled it and we are one point clear of them in 2nd and three points clear of 3rd so we are bossing it at the minute. As we all know, football can be a cruel mistress and we have to remain focused as we head in to October.

In this piece, we have a big one, not only do we face Bolton (which is a huge game) but we also face The Venkys at Ewood park. COME ON BOYS LETS HAVE IT!!!!

Here are the current league standings

Game 1- Bolton Wanderers (H)

First game for today and we have a local derby against Bolton Wanderers. Bolton are currently sat in 14th place and one person we have to watch for is Zach Clough who is unreal on this game. We make two changes as Ilori comes in for Tarkowski and Lowton (because he is whining like a little bitch) comes in for Darikwa
3 points here would be mint. The formation is the same as always, that standard Mike Bassett "4-4 2"

Fair to say, I rode my luck against Bolton but it's results like this that will mean the most come end of the season. Bolton took the lead when Ben Mee decided to play an Iniesta like pass to set up Clough, it was truly something special (the wally). Goals from Hennings and Gray again got us the 3 points. Up next is Forest away.

Game 2- Nottingham Forest (A)

After we won against Bolton in the early kick off on Saturday, Brighton bottled it again and we are now 4 points clear at the top which is great to see at this stage of the season. Although this is an important game, I have one eye on that Blackburn game so will make a few changes. Vokes and Will Keane are coming in up front, so I can unleash Gray and Hennings on the Rovers. Arfield comes in for Boyd as well.

Nathan Best "Football genius". Vokes and Arfield making an impact on the game. Was a bit concerned with Will Keane missing chances but overall happy with the mentality to score soon after conceding.

Game 3 - Blackburn (A)

Here we go, the big one. The pride of Lancashire at stake, huge for our season, huge for the fans and I am not gonna lie, I really want to win this one (Jesus I need help). The players who sat out midweek, come back into the fold and also Darikwa comes in for Lowton.

Boom! Break out the red panties motherfuckers. Sorry for the language but what a result. Blackburn should have won but Hennings again, what a player he is proving to be.
BESTY 1-0 VENKYS

Game 4- Huddersfield (H)

After the players celebrated with a trip to FRI-DAYS and a night out in MACS, we welcome Huddersfield Town to Turf Moor. We are still top of the league but Huddersfield have been playing well of late. Arfield comes in for Boyd and I will be bringing on Will Keane at half time. Ulvestad also makes his debut as Tom Carroll has a head injury after Ben Marshall got a bit hungry.

MACS hangover ends our unbeaten run which stretched back to August. Huddersfield deserved the win but we should have taken our chances. Our lead at the top is 4 points and we have Fulham at Home next.

Game 5- Fulham (H)

Up next is Fulham who are sitting in 9th place and I want us to show some bounce-back mentality and hopfully stick a couple of goals last Fulham. Boyd, Lowton and Caroll return to the side.

We bounce-back like a dodgy cheque, good win which we finally got after 20 shots on target but Andre Gray pops up to score the winner GET IN!. Kightly once again on form, he has been marvelous this season.

Game 6- Wolves (A)

The last game for today sees us face Wolves away from home, who are currently struggling in 20th place. Will Keane gets a start as he has impressed lately from the bench and big David Jones makes his return to the starting 11 after 3 months out.

Oh diddums we couldn't beat the mighty Wolves. We should have made better of our chances but never fear though overall "today has been a good day" in the words of Ice Cube.

16 games gone and I am very happy with how the league table is set out. 4 points clear of Brighton and we have Brighton next in a top of the table clash. Kightly has been the player of the season so far and overall it's been a great team effort.

Also signed a new 3 year deal so more Dixy Chicken for me. Happy days!
