Because it's apparent that I don't have a social life or any of means of one because I left my ID in Manchester. I have decided that until I get FM17 in January, I will do a daily blog piece on my adventures with FM16. Through a long extensive search and many hours analyzing the squads I have decided to take the claret of Burnley up to the Premier League and hopefully build us into a prominent outfit in the big time. UP THE CLARETS!!!

Formation/Lineup
I have gone with a bog standard English classic 442, playing a strict regiment disciplined game, making sure that defensively I don't get opened up like Terry Butcher.
Lineup: Heaton, Darikwa, Keane, Tarkowski, Mee, Arfield, Barton, Jones, Boyd, Hennings, Gray (He is banned from using social media)
For pre-season I will let my trusty assistant Ian Woan take care of things whilst I conduct business in the transfer market. I have a budget of £2M and wage budget of 15k so I am going to have to sell one or maybe two players to help raise some funds. First item on the agenda is to get rid of Lukas Jutkiewicz. Unfortunately for Lukas, he does not fit in my game plan and with a new striker hopefully coming in as well, I think it's time for him to move on. I am also going to sell Danny Lafferty (LB), nothing against his ability but I have Stephen Ward and Ben Mee in that position. In terms of signings I have 3 targets in mind. (who I have signed)
Tom Carroll- who plays for Tottenham Hotspur I have used before on this game and this kid has potential. A creative force who will shine in our bid for promotion and a great loan signing.
Will Keane- Currently at Manchester United (on the game) Will is a very good player to have in the Championship, he can score and create. Injury wise he has a shaky record but at 650k potential transfer he is a steal.
Tiago Ilori- Tiago can provide that extra quality at the back as I want to see him challenge Tarkowski because face it I am not replacing Michael Keane. Currently at Liverpool, I am hoping he can bring that big game experience to the Championship.
Pre-season we remained undefeated. Positive signs for the season ahead.
Game 1- Leeds United (A)
The first game of the season and we are up against Leeds United at Elland road which is a big game at the start of the season considering the history between the two. There are no injury concerns as all the players are well rested and ready for the tough game.
First game, first win in the bag. Leeds shaded it in terms of possession but luckily for me Hennings bags a brace to kick off the season in style. Happy with the performance from the lads!
Game 2- Burton Albion (EFL Cup)
The first round of the EFL Cup and we have been drawn to face Burton Albion Albion away. I will be making 7 changes to the side which won against Leeds, so the lineup looks like this.
Heaton, Darikwa, Keane, Ilori, Ward, Kightly, Carroll, Barton, Taylor, Vokes, Keane
Hopefully even with the amount of changes we get the win, I really want a cup run to coincide with the quest for promotion.
For christ sake, that cup run lasted long, Burton were well deserved with their win and in all honesty Burton could have had more. Disappointing.
Game 3- Birmingham (H)
Well let's forget about the midweek, that didn't happen just forget about it. We have our first home game of the season against Birmingham and i will be using the same lineup which gave us success at Leeds as we need to put the cup behind us.
1-0 Win. I will take it, we needed it after the cup and that now makes it 2 wins out of 2 in the league to put us top for the time being. Andre Gray is also officially off the mark for the Clarets.
Game 4- Ipswich(A)
Can we make it 3 out of 3 in the league? (remember the cup does not count). Up next is Ipswich who are 23rd in the league. Normally these games are straight forward but this game has a unique way of going against the norm. We have a couple of injuries to report Michael Keane is out for a week with a gashed head and David Jones is out for 3 months with a slipped disc. So in for those two are Tom Carroll and Tiago Ilori and we are also bringing in Will Keane for Hennings.
Poor performance all round from Burnley. Ipswich much the better side. We need to improve for Brentford at home at the weekend. We conceded from two set pieces, we are still in the playoffs but it has been a mixed start overall to the season.
Game 5- Brentford (H)
Brentford up next, who are top of the league so we need to be at our best. The game marks Andre Gray's first game back at his old club. Hennings is back in the squad and Kightly replaces Arfield.

Scrappy win but it's a win. Andre Gray scoring against his old club which moves us to one point within the automatic promotion places
Game 6- Bristol City (A) Final game for today
The final game for today's piece sees the clarets come up against 18th place Bristol City away from home. Hennings is injured and so is Joey Barton, so I will bring in Arfield and Vokes and play a 4-3-1-2 with Tom Carroll playing the holding role and Boyd moved up to play behind Vokes and Gray. Michael Keane also returns.
Although we did not win, I was happy that Burnley kept a clean sheet but we still need to find a bit of consistency. Luckily for us, it's still early in the season and there is 1 point between the top 6.
The next game is Sheffield Wednesday and that will be on tomorrows piece.
